Forum Rules
Make sure you have read and understand all of these before participating in forum activity. By doing so you agree that you will abide by these rules and respect the authority of the moderation team.
Content and Administrative Guidelines
1. Content
1.1. This forum is rated as a PG13 forum. Thus, it is required that any content posted on said forum must adhere to the same rating as well as the specifications outlined by the Proboards community guidelines. Any users found posting content that is not appropriate for this forum is liable to receive at a minimum 1 infraction point and a maximum of 8 points or an informal warning via PM at the discretion of the administering member of staff.
1.2. If a member has received a prior warning, infraction, or other such measure and that measure has been issued less than thirty (30) days past then a member of administration may issue a ban of up to six (6) days depending on the severity of the offence. In this case the member will not receive any further infraction points.
2. Private Messages
2.1. Can only be seen by their intended recipients and any others they choose to invite. It is only visible to staff once reported.
2.2. If a member receives a PM that they did not request, and that contains inappropriate content that they find offensive or blatant spam then they may report it to a member of administration and appropriate actions will be taken.
3. Spamming and Excessive Swearing
3.1. This forum does allow swearing to a measure but excessive swearing and spamming will result up to two (2) or more infraction points depending on the severity and any related posts will be either deleted or edited to remove the offensive materials.
3.2. Excessive swearing may be defined as long strings of vulgarities with little or no meaning, or when it is found to have detrimental effects on the legibility of the post. This may be up to the interpretation of the administering member of staff.
3.3. In cases where it is not obvious the member is permitted to contact another member of staff that they might re-evaluate whether the points awarded was correct.
4. Attacks and abuse
4.1. Attacking or any form of verbal abuse directed at another member is considered a serious offence. The offender will receive up to twenty (20) infraction points and the appropriate actions for Spamming will be taken if required.
4.2. If there have been previous cases of the same offence within the last thirty (30) days then the member is liable to receive a ban of equal length to the number of previous offences.
5. Administration's instructions
5.1. Refusal to follow instructions from a member of administration will be returned with an additional one (1) infraction point above any free-standing offences.
5.2. If this is a repeat offence, that is the member has been known to ignore staff on previous occasions then further actions may be taken. In this case the member may receive between five (5) and thirty (30) infraction points or, in extreme cases, may receive a ban of up to four (4) days.
5.3. The administration is bound by the same rules as normal members. If any instructions given by them are in offence of, or encourage breaking the forum rules then they must be reported to another member of staff and members will be permitted to refuse to comply without penalty.
If this is found to not be the case the member will receive the normal punishment for refusing instructions from a member of administration.
Procedures for the issuing of infractions or bans
1. If a member is found to be in offence of one of the above rules they must receive a Private Message detailing exactly what the offence was, the actions taken, as well as an included copy of the offensive material. It is in this PM and this PM only that the member is permitted to discuss the details of their punishment.
1.1. In the case that there were multiple members involved with the offence then they will each receive a PM accustomed to their own role in the offence.
1.2. If the member so desires, other members of administration maybe added to the discussion as needed.
1.3. If the member requests that another moderator re-evaluate their punishment it is the responsibility of the administering member of staff of oblige and assign a moderator of their choice. Note that the assigned moderator must be another member other than the administering member of staff.
1.3.1. If another member of staff is not currently available then all further actions are to be put on hold until one becomes available. During this time the punishment previously chosen will withstand.
2. On issuing punishment to a member details including the time, date, and action taken are to be recorded in the staff notes for that member for future reference or by another member of staff.
3. Bans may only be issued as outlined in these documents without any added points unless stated otherwise.
3.1. Any bans issued must be preceded by a clear warning to the offender through PM and the warned member must be given a minimum of one (1) hour to respond.
3.2. If the offender fails to respond within the allotted time then the punishment may be carried through unchanged or, if the administering member of staff so desires, they may allow the offender a longer period to respond.
3.3. Other bans than recommend by this document may be issued only in the case that multiple members of administration agree that it is necessary and in the best interest of the forum.
3.4. On the issuing of a ban the member’s infraction points get reset to zero (0) to signify that they have been punished appropriately.
3.4.1. Their staff notes are to remain as a record of past offences.
